I need my scores reset on this game. I clicked on the play button and it gave me 0 percent in 0 seconds. Refreshing will not help because that score is now on the boards. I played again, though, to try to get a good score. Problem is, I don't understand the game at all.

What game?

I had a link to it under the word "this". And that's not the only game, though. I don't remember what else, but I think it is a bug for all the site and not just one game.
-
What are you talking about? The game you link to has 20 questions. The 0% thing only happens if someone has a game with 0 questions. Tip: look at the scoreboard of a game before playing it. Also, if you have problem with a game, why don't you report the game, there's a flag-function for that since way back.
-
OK, I see it now. I missed seeing the link when I first read your message.
The game's author could reset the highscores, but game makers are not always wiling to do that. And this one has not been around in months. And other people don't like having their scores (especially) ATHs removed...
You might contact David directly and ask him to remove the score.
I'm not sure what's up with the 0 seconds 0% thing in this game. I also don't know if David is aware of this, but he'll probably see this discussion. I haven't seen it in this kind of situation before. It might be something like the old "last dot freeze" bug: a glitch that occurs infrequently. Inconsistent bugs are difficult to track down, so it may be some time before David can isolate the cause.
I have seen the situation adergaard mentions, but that's entirely different. That will be addressed eventually by requiring that games have a minimum number of dots, shapes or questions.
One way for you to correct the score is to play the game until you memorize the answers, or to play once, review the results, and write down the answers. That's a bit of a pain because the questions are randomized, so you'd have to write down the questions, too.

Thank you. And maybe you could contact David for me? He only follows 5 people.
-
Okay, I'll ask him to have a look at this thread. For the record, I just had a similar experience with one of my own games just now while I was using it in order to write something for the FAQ. And this was not a multiple-choice game as in your case, it is a shape game.
Remember too that you can always leave a question for David via the 'Contact' link at the bottom of each page. It is e-mail based, but of course David already knows your e-mail address.

Update:
I have sent a message to David, and he is aware of the problem.
If anyone else has a similar problem, please report it in this thread, and provide a link to the game in question.
-
Ok, thanks, but my score has not been erased. I'm still back with the stragglers who are <100%.

@chafawa:
I see that it has been removed. Sometimes it takes David a while to get to such requests. He does have other things to do of course--including trying to track down this bug.
Unfortunately, this is an intermittent and inconsistent glitch. That makes it elusive, and a real problem to fix. If you can't get it to repeat it's hard to find. If it's hard to find, a fix is difficult.
It's a bit like the old "last dot freeze" bug which took a couple of years to track down. But it did finally get fixed.
Sometimes, the fastest way to resolve a problem like yours is to just play again, using a 'cheat sheet' you make up on the first play through. You'll never get an ATH that way, but you can get rid of a low score.
-
Ok, so it's been fixed. Thanks. But in the case that that happens again, is there anything that I can do to help David fix it?
-
Probably not. But of course, if you encounter a glitch, report it.
