I played 18 games in this tournament:
    http://www.purposegames.com/group/httpwwwhfgxgcom/tournament

There are now only 17 games available as the tournament setter (hfgxg) has removed one of them.

This is very unfair on anyone who wants to beat my time (never difficult) and to play the whole tournament - now impossible. My score is showing as 18/17...

It's bad enough when people add games at the last moment - but taking them away is even worse.

May I suggest, too, that there be a minimum duration of tournaments of at least 5 days.

Very good suggestion, BoboLo - though i'd say maybe 3 days for a minimum (it's quite fun to have them to do over a weekend, for instance). At the moment I think the default duration when you set a game is 1 day, and it might be worth looking to change that one week.

Well, any faulty tournament will be removed when found and is never counted against the leaderboard, whether it's removed or not.

If you find a pattern in how this happens, it's my suggestion that you then refrain from participating in those groups/tournaments.

In any case, like I mentioned, there are limits imposed as to what tournaments gets counted in the weekly championship that keeps these kind of erroneous tournaments from being included.

Makropulos has just told me that a game, Greek letters backwards: upper-case version has disappeared from the current tournament in Beginner Game Makers. I've checked the creator's games page and it is not there so I assume it has been unpublished. However, it is still in the tournament schedule and is still counted in the statistics. Is there a way to fix this?

    Sab:

If you know the author, contact him/her and ask that the game be republished. If you don't know, the person who set the tournament may know who it was.

Often, this just means that the game was edited and saved, but not published again. (Saving the game unpublishes it.)

Otherwise, David will have to fix it.

I am the author of the game "Greek letters backwards - upper case version", and I just by coincidence discovered that it had changed status from "Published" to "Unpublished". I immediately changed the status to "Published", but I really don“t know what happened. I hope everybody feel OK with that.

Then, please continue playing my games - in my opinion, they are mostly very good games, and by far too underplayed!

Thanks Grainbeer! The Greek game is an excellent one and it's nice to have it back. Keep making great games.
