A change from before is the that when you publish a new public game, it ends up in your profile page (in the pulse as well as in the games section of your profile).
After a while, it will also end up in the "most recently created" section.
You can of course play and use your game in challenges with your friends instantly after creation. It's just the displaying of it in the site search and "latest games" sections that has a small waiting period.
