The idea of this post is to help younger or newer players develope a system to play each game. Some people might memorize the board by clicking on answers even if its not the right answer and they know it. Others like me might just guess the entire game and eventually learn word phrases that help us(i.e. "sydney has a newcastle"-25 cities of oceania).I am not asking you to give up your entire system. I am simply asking you to tag in some ideas to work out a system for younger or newer people. Thanks for your time

Personally, it depends. Sometimes, I'll print out the game, and then go through and write down (as best I can) the names of the cities or countries. I've found that really helps get them in my head. I also just start guessing what I know and go from there, but for the bigger maps like Asia, I found it was easier to write them down.
    Good luck! HTH

For the 25 city quizzes I usually sketch out the map and then write in the cities the first time I play. After that I refer back to my diagram when I do the quiz. Doesn't take very long until I only need to look up one or two cities and eventually I remember those as well.

The first few times I play a new game, or an unfamiliar geography, I just click around to see what all the city/country/site names are. After a while, I usually start getting better, remembering more and more of the locations and my accuracy starts increasing. I don't worry about speed until I get to the point where I can identify all the locations a few times in a row. Good luck!

interesting. What I am seeing is that alot of people like to print it out. I just got booted from 8 to 9 in oceania, but hey thats life. I just have to get my old position back. Anyway keep posting. To keep it going I'll add that when I try for a top ten position so many times in a row that my hand gets "frozen" give it a rest and it will be back to normal.

You should take a look at the video posted in here somewhere by a guy playing the african countries game. Now that's impressive.

Hey - I have been a member for 10 days now and played intensively. Sense that I'm approaching a physical speedlimit.
Apart from being to old (49), I blame the fact that I use touchpad instead of mouse.
Please, someone who has made the switch to mouse, tell the speed will improve if I did likewise.

I started playing the games on this site using the track pad on my laptop. Recently, I got a mouse and tried playing a few games and I did horribly. I'm not sure if it's because the track pad is easier. It's probably just because I'm more used to it. I've heard others say they don't think they would do as well without a mouse. So, give it a try and see how it works for you. Good luck!
