Of interest to game-makers with many backgrounds:
A long time ago I reported to David a problem with my gallery of background images: after I reached 200 backgrounds, none of them would show. It was specific to my browser (FireFox), and David verified and fixed the problem.
Since then, I noticed that backgrounds sort into two separate sets running from A-Z.
So when I added a background, I never knew if it would be in the first set or the second.
Well, I finally figured out why game backgrounds sort the way they do. It's so bloody obvious.
Actually, there are not two sets from A-Z.
Only the first set is A-Z. The second set is a-z, and that's the difference. If the first letter is uppercase, it is in the first set. If not, it goes to the second. Also, Un-named, symbols and numbers sort out before A-Z.
If I'd been more careful to capitalize, it would've never happened. But with a couple hundred backgrounds or so, it's too late to straighten out now.
But at least, I know how they sort now, and that will help me in making new backgrounds.
Doh!
I guess, if I hadn't had so many already when this system started, I might've noticed earlier....?
Just thought it might help other game-makers to know this.
