I'd have to say; Play a lot... :-)
Play a game until you can get 100% easy every time. After that you can only get faster. That is how I do it I guess... -
That's what I do

That's what I do. I've played one game like 35 times. And now, I keep getting 100%'s and my time gets faster.
-
Yeah, I figured that.

yup, me too. Just make sure you know them and you'll get faster the more you play...plus getting a good score is also kind of luck. If the countries/cities/states come up in close proximity, then your time is going to be faster. All of my fastest scores have been when the targets are grouped close together.

I noticed that lowering the resolution on my 17" monitor from 1024x768 to 800x600 instantly lowered all my times by 2-3 seconds by making small things easier to click on.
Also, playing around with mouse settings helps. no 'acceleration', and the fastest 'speed' you can control.
I imagine having a larger monitor helps, and a laser mouse, or maybe a pen/tablet, or some other better controller.
Paying attention to the different ways your brain makes mistakes, and trying different mental approaches is very interesting, but I don't have any simple tips there.
But all of this ignores the purpose of the games... Perhaps there are other ways to measure geographical knowledge than by comparing best times...

But again, it's just for fun. I'm certainly not claiming to be a geography guru. I'm suprised at how seriously everyone is taking this, like there's a prize or something. Sheesh.
