Games you can make III: Sports, Linguistics, Miscellaneous

Post Information Posted: 2007-08-31 11:42:35 #

Sports Games:

Hockey Rink.
Yep, we have baseball fields, football fields and even cricket. But not hockey rinks. Just find a decent schematic and label the parts…

Soccer Field.
What I said for hockey is the same for soccer. World’s most popular sport, indeed!

Sports Halls of fame.
Could be US only, or world. But see:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_halls_and_walks_of_fame#Sports_halls_of_fame

Linguistics games:

British / American English differences
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_words_having_different_meanings_in_British_and_American_English
This will take some doing, it won’t be as easy as it may seem at first.

ROT-13 Game.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ROT-13
contains a small table with a number of words converted to ROT-13 and showing how they change. Ex. Terra fl‡ Green. Given one, can you find/guess the other?

Medical Terminology Game.

Pretty self-explanatory, really.

Miscellaneous Games:

Top 20 Steel-Producing Nations:
A world map and this link:

(There may be some surprises).

Top 10 Onion-Producing Nations:

And most other commodities could be done. Sure, these 2 production games could be Geography instead of Miscellaneous—either is appropriate.

Cuts of Beef:

This could be one game with 2 pics (US and Brit), or two separate games.
