Probably wouldn't work. If people want to avoid low initial scores, they can just play w/o logging in until they get good. Then, they can log in and play. A lot of trouble, but I'm sure some people would do that. It's possible that some already do that, either by design or incidentally (e.g., when I play on someone else's computer, I don't usually log in, I just play as anonymous.)
Also, the person who makes any kind of complex game will then always have a great initial score. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.)
But along the lines of what you're saying, it would be nice if you could retain you own history on a per-game basis. That way you could track your improvement over time. But I suppose that might be too cumbersome for David to actually implement.
