A Message from Flashplayer

Post Information Posted: 2007-08-01 14:13:58 #

All of a sudden I can't play any of the games.
I get a message that I need to upgrade my flashplayer.
I go to the Adobe flash player site but I can't seem to download a new one. It says to push the download now button but there is not one displayed.
How do I know what version is on my computer? It's only a few months old from Dell.
Any suggestins? Thanks oliveoil

Thanks kristk
At least now I know that I do have the upgraded version 9.0.47.0. so that's not the problem
It won't let me play games or view Youtube so something else must be going on.
My McAfree has been acting strange today (keeps updating)
and I wonder if it's involved.
I'm already getting withdrawal symptoms from not playing games!

Well I'm finally back on. I must be addicted to these games.
It is (was) McAfee that knocked out my flash player plus causing browsing problems.
I spent hours with Dell on the phone. We finally restored my computer and I got off the phone. McAfee sent another update and knocked it all out again. Fortunately I remembered how the technicion finally restored things.
Now I have to contact Macafe. It may be a glitch with Vista .
What a day!!!!!!!

I had a similar problem before. If you have JavaScript disabled in your browser and try to play a game you'll get the misleading message "In order to play these trivia games and educational quizzes, you need to upgrade your Flash Player".

Just activate JavaScript and everything is fine again.

Alcor:

It differs a bit from browser to browser and from one operating system to another.

But somewhere in the broser's menus you should find something like "preferences", "options", "settings" or some such.

Prowl around in that, and you should find it.

Thaks, Tickman. I'm sorry, but it seems it's not a problem connected to javascript. I don't know what's the matter...
SIGH & SOB.
Thank you...

If you have the latest flash player ( 9.0.28 ), close down any browsers you have running, and look for the flash player install file on your PC. It should look something like this: C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash. The folder will contain two files, Flash9b.ocx and FlashUtil9b.exe. Run FlashUtil9b.exe and it will tell you there is an update available, download it. The version of Flash will not change but when you then reboot your PC you should be able to view all flash content properly.

(if you don't have the latest version, go into add/remove programs and remove any versions you do have, and reboot your PC before going to www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer to download the newest one)

Hope this helps! :)
