I changed back the comments to read from top down instead of the most recent at the top. Let me know if you feel strongly about it in either way.

I think it's better this way. Maybe it's just because that's the way I'm used to see it, I have no good arguments for it :-)

I think it was more handy the other way round, because you can see if there's something new, and how old the latest comment is (commenting still ongoing?), at a glance.

Oh, but the numbering should be in old-to-new order, that's better now (again).

There's something to be said for each way. Equestenebrarum's
comments are certainly well taken, but personally, I like oldest to youngest.

Also, with oldest to youngest, if the author has a first comment he would like to leave, it stays on top. I know that there is a place for the game description, but leaving a longer comment there seems inappropriate, may run out of space, and sort of hijacks the purpose of that (besides looking bad on the homepage during its period of residency).

If there is a way to get it to where it defaults to top down but can be sorted the other way by clicking a sort button, that would be nice, but perhaps not really worth your trouble.

There is nothing to counter tickman's author's-first-comment argument, so I have to admit defeat. (A sort option would be a nice bonus feature, but there are more important issues to be dealt with, aren't there? I don't think people would use the option much, anyway.)

    Equestenebrarum:

Well, you may not have to concede defeat permanently. The only thing supporting my argument is that with oldest-first, the author's links and initial comments stay on top. Of course, that's my bias, because that's exactly what I have been doing with my games.

In a separate thread I suggested a game modification to allow a special area for links, attributions and suchlike. David seemed to regard that favorably, and may be instituting some kind of "author's corner" or "links and attributions" section in the next iteration of Purpose Games.

If the new version has such a section, then the whole thing is up in the air again.
