One record per game per profile (16 posts)

Great site. Great Games. I just have a suggestion. I know it isn't as simple as it sounds, but i think it would be better if only a record per game per profile was recorded (the best one). I mean for a guy who has the top spot and whose name appears 50 times within the top 100 is great, but for someone who's not as fast with the mouse, is kind of frustrating.

And take into account that if i can get a 45 sec. record i can play 50 times and get somewhere around 45 everytime. Meanwhile the record of someone whose top effort brings him near the 50 sec. will see his record come down to de 60th spot just because the fastest guy played more than 50 times the same game. See my point?

Besides, that way you would not have to erase the records every three months. What do you think?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes. I definetly to see your point. Pelle, Alex, Angela0726, Rip and a couple of others completly rule the top of the highscore lists. :)

Well, I'll see what I can do about it.

I'm not so sure that it'll keep me from erasing the highscores from time to time though. I'd still keep the all time highs but I feel that it's healthy to keep a three month limit on the rest of the scores.

Thanks for taking interest in this site.

I think it is a good idea as well. You can get a really good time and maybe get 50:th place. If there was only one record it would be easier for most people to see how good they really are. A lot more people can get top 10 places.

I also notice that the time is a couple of hours off. I posted this at 20:26

    The date is right though.

About a single instance of score per user and game: point taken. I'll implement it as soon as I find the time.

About the erroneous timestamp: that's a bug. I'll correct it. Thanks for mentioning it.

Good feedback overall, keep it coming.

While we are on the bugs section, the "(6 posts)" after the subject are overlapping the "Tags:". Atleast for me that's running IE, haven't had the time to try it in any other browser yet.

And as always, great job David! :)

Ah, while I'am on the topic.

Back on the old site, when 2 players got the exact time or when one player got 2 scores with the exact time to scores got somewhat messy.

For example, you have both the first and second position on a map with the same time then the score woulden't show up under player statistics. Not sure if that's been fixed or not :)

And honestly, I don't need my name listed a 40 times in a row. I complete a game just trying to beat my previous score, but it looks completely pretentious like I'm trying fill up the scoreboard. The truth is, I have a lot of free time at work. :-)

I would like to endorse fabianruiz comments - great games, great site and yes an excellent suggestion about only keeping the top score per game for each individual.

Each highscore list now only holds the best score per player.
    Report any bugs please.

Hi David - the latest changes are great. They give you a much better idea of where you are at in relation to other players. Did come up with one small bug - last couple of times I played the Asian Capitals game the timer did not stop after all cities completed. Regards, Ron

I'm getting the same error as Ron with the Asian capitals game. The timer keeps going after the cities complete.

Yep, this update was a very good improvement, I think most of us are trying to beat the best times only, it just isnt that interesting to see that you have beaten Alex' third best time or something like that. ;)
