40,000 Members (and thanks to David) (12 posts)

    PG has just passed another milestone; there are now over 40,000 members. Sure, there are those who are no longer active, and those who have multiple profiles, but this is huge. There were fewer than 1500 when I joined, a few years back.

    We are about to hit another milestone, too: Another 157 games will take us up to 20,000 on the site.

    And we're over 200 groups now, as well.

    This is all a credit to David, who has done a phenomenal job of creating, updating, maintaining and improving the site.

    Many thanks to David.

    Thank you all!

    It was certainly never expected that PG would ever reach these volumes but I'm happy to see that we're still here and growing.

    I'm always amazed at how many great games people come up with and keep coming up with, every day.

    So, here's my thank you to all you members out there - you truely make PG a great place to be. Thank you.

    Yeah, and the categories in the Leaderboards are getting overfilled. There are now 49 Grand Master +s. (Me being the most recent)!

    Probably I already wrote this but a solution would be to reason not with fixed milestones but with percentages of general totals. For examples: so far there are 20,000 games played all in all 20,000,000 times . Let's say a gold member is the one who played 1 thousandth of the times, that is, 20,000 times. But tomorrow when all the games will be played 25,000,000, to be a gold member you will need to have played 25,000 times.

    It could be this, or number of ATH as a percentage of total games created: to be a gold member I need to have ATH in 1% of all the games... things like these I think would push to play a lot more...
