Don't you think it's strange, most games are old and unplayed.

I have made 30 games, and more than 1/2 of them are under 50 plays. Why?

I wonder why it is so.

Is it because the games are 'repeats'?

    Please Answer

This is not unusual. If you go to the "Games" section, there are 715 pages of games. View by most played, and go halfway through (p 357). The games there only have 60 plays. At about page 395, games only have 50 plays: there are hundreds of games with fewer plays.

Looking at your games, yes some are repeats. but not all. And even most of the original ones use the standard site backgrounds: those don't jump out at you (there are so many of them), so people don't notice them.

But the most important thing may be that you've only been a member for a couple of months, so none of your games are very old.

Keep making games. Try bringing in some more distinctive backgrounds. If you keep making good games, eventually, you'll become more well-known. When that happens, people will start to seek your games out, and they'll get more play.

And there are always games that don't get much play. I have about 6 or 7 pages of games with 50 plays or fewer. Some of those will get more play later. Some may just never reach that level. So it goes.

So hang in there, and keep trying.

    Good Luck, and Good Games;

At this point, I don't think you're doing badly. Give it some time.

Don't worry, there are professionals of not-much-played games.
    The first reason is VISIBILITY.
The five or so games that appear weekly in the tournament are the most visible and get 500-1500 plays each just during that week. David chooses personally those games ( i suppose)
After that, the games showing on first page are much more played than others. Before dying i would like to know what's the logic behind appearing in the first page. There is also the "game of the day" where usually the same fistful of games appear over and over. Usually these games are highest rated and much played so it is a sort of vicious circle for other games: they are not very popular so they don't appear so they are not very popular....
Then there is the community where you can advertise your games and tournament. Probably the louder you are the more effective :)
For the first few months in PG i made only 33 games and they weren't much played except for 1 featured in a tournament. After more than a year I came back and started creating games like hell. Still I have a very low avarage because (and here comes the second most important factor) I often use uncommon topics. Art and classical music are not the best for gaining consensus. Then i try with strange things about geography or history and some times i get more success . But just as a comparison, out of almost 290 games, my best 30 games have more than 160 plays, the other... well :P
I almost never know what will be succesfull... lately I was VERY confident in the success of my religion + art series, I like it a lot ... but 3 games are all under 20 plays after more than a week. Consider also that august is not a good period for breaking records about popularity !

Oh, some times it seems that the hundreth game about european countries gains much more plays than a new game about a wonderful artist... well, I stick with the wonderful artist or I try to ask the european countries in a different way, just for the sake of originality !

Start creating, no matter what, and if your games are good, they will be eventually be played more !
    Don't give up !
