I'm 30, but why might that be important? I know a Counterstrikeplayer who is twelve years old and beats us all! He is so fast and accurate you can't believe it is true if you don't look him over the shoulder. I suggested him to play Purposegames already a summer ago but he isn't good at English and didn't find it very interesting (people don't like to learn if they still go to school). At the time tournaments still didn't exist though as far as I remember. I think there are just two age classes, young and old, the young ones having an advantage. But the border between young and old isn't fix.

Hard to say.. i haven't played Veejay a lot, but anyone who can beat Sarah is an excellent player ;-)
I think Sarah may be the best active player at the moment, but i'm trying hard to prove otherwise ;-P

I've only been around for 4 months at this time, and I've mostly had a chance to observe Sarah, so I'd say Sarah :P Though the few glimpses I've gotten of Moga and Thomsi I've noticed they don't take many attempts to hit the top or near top scores on a game or tournament. So, I think they're equally amazing :) And since Sarah is not in that tie, she wins :P

I'd contend we'd have to have the exact same hardware and such available to us to truly know, and establish other metrics for comparison, such as restrict number of attempts, and give the same collection of dots to click, etc...

And how can we account for guessing at the next dot to click, if we're all chasing after fastest times? as this act can propel one to be a high end outlier relative to the average times scored.

So what do we use to choose? Who learns the quickest? and who clicks the fastest? or who guesses best? and who does the previous three in the fewest attempts? but more importantly, who is most charming?! [jkn]

Okay done babbling :P
To sum up, Sarah.

The question part allows for more word space and will give you two lines. The answer section sometimes has to be abbreviated because it only allows for so many letter spaces in each choice. The same goes for the spaces allotted to the dots in other game types. I believe it is 32 spaces before it cuts off the answer.

@ Equestenebrarum:

Right about BoboLo.

Right also about players leaving comments. When a member makes a lot of games (and you know all about that), mistakes creep in, even if one takes care, and double-checks spellings and facts. It's so easy just to miss something. By the time a game is several months old, you're not likely to find the mistakes unless a later player points them out. (This has happened on a number of my games.)

If another player takes the time to point out corrections, and make constructive criticisms, it can help improve a game. In effect, it is a compliment from that player. I've found that most game makers thank you for pointing out misspellings, the dreaded "Put Dot Text Here" error, and other problems.

Finally, I agree about rating games. I don't rate all the games I play, but I do rate many of them. I think it is especially important to do this if you visit the general games section, and play games that haven't made the main page. If such a game is good, give it a good rating. That 1) encourages that author to make more and 2) brings that author closer to main page status in his/her subsequent games.

I forgot to say that - imho - any best player should also leave comments on games if he notices mistakes or inadequacies, and that in the case that he is able to (that means for example that he knows something about the game's topic), he should rate games.

I think the best isn't necessarily the fastest. But this has been discussed before.

However I wanted to add BoboLo to this list, it's fascinating how many different games he completes with a 100 % score a second after they were created - even my Bulgarian vocabulary games ;) - and very fast for that matter. (Not ultra-highspeed though.) Of all the games on the first page, there's just four where his name isn't among the top places.

David: I noticed that I sometimes click on the same dot twice in very fast succession. I'm aware that this is not a bug, but a problem with my hand or mouse, more likely the former. But I don't think it'd do any harm if you'd include a check for the case, so the system wouldn't register two wrong answers for the player (if he chooses wrong).

Maybe you could add this at the end of your to do list, at the place where the most unimportant things have a home.

Just thought I'd mention it.
