Ronald, You wrote a lovely response to me. I have to ask you to look at "The Chaos" by Dr Gerard Nolst Trenité. (You'll find it all over the internet). Given your fascination with the English language I imagine you may already have seen this. If not, you will be staggered by a foreigner's command of the perplexities of our extraordinary language.

I can't believe no-one wrote a comment yet. What a lovely game the English Humour is. Most fun I've had on this site yet (albeit it's my first day!!).
