I enjoyed the game, thank you for creating it. I think, however, that Piedmontese and Lombardian should change places on the map (the Piedmont is to the west of Lombardy). Also, the dot for Emilio-Romagnan (if it is a language) should be moved; it is now on Tuscany.

How did you come up with such an idea an what is the logic behind which countries you chose?

I like it! What about making a second version with just the dates. Usually, once your on this site for a while, you know where the cities are. In this way one could concentrate on when the olymics were in a certain place.

alPINIA has kindly noted that some of my choices were man-made and therefore do not qualify. Fair point! Perhaps I should have included some or all of the following instead: Great Barrier Reef; Cape Tribulation, Queensland, Australia; Qutang gorge (the first of the three Yangtze gorges - in July 2001, before it was flooded as a result of the Sandouping dam); Kerala backwaters, southern India (where I went for my honeymoon!); Great Ocean Road near the Twelve Apostles, Victoria, Australia. It's worth adding that what makes the Jinshanling part of the Great Wall so special is the spectacular natural scenery in the area.

1. Dazu rock sculptures from the Song dynasty (11-12th centuries), Sichuan province, China
2. Great Wall at Jinshanling, Hebei province, China
3. Nabataean temple complex, Petra, Jordan
4. Halong Bay, Vietnam
5. Valley of the Geysers, Kamchatka, Russia
6. Church of the Intercession on the Nerl, Bogolyubovo (near Vladimir), Russia
