Filaments are the little wire-like parts of lightbulbs that glow when the electricity runs through them.
Tungsten (old name Wolfram) is a heavy metal, noted for its high tensile strength, low expansion when heated and its very high melting point.

I couldn't find a better free background: others were too busy, too unclear or too dark (or just plain). I'll probably stumble onto a background I like better, but not until after I've made all the periodic table games I'm going to...
