Bacground map shows solar incidence around the world. The 6 black dots are the land area that would be required to provide solar energy equivalent to the world's current energy use, including all nuclear, hydropower, fossil fuel, etc., assuming 8% efficiency of solar cells.
I counted the EU all together as there are so many in the top 32 together, and it would just be solid dots.
