Thanks for the time you took to research that, Snavelaar :) It can be really hard to have these tiny island names clear, so I appreciate you finding the truth! I agre with makropulos, really intersting stuff too, I'm fascinated by the Pacific islands.

Great to have an answer to this. Thanks for such an interesting piece of information!

That should be Saipan (Capital Hill / Susupe)...

I think I have a satisfying answer here: the official capital of the Northern Mariana Islands is Saipan (according to the CIA). The executive and legislative branches meet at Capital Hill (one city on the island of Saipan) the judiciary meets at Susupe (the city a named as capital). This according to the Encyclopaedia Britannica.
So it seems to be a governmental district, much like Yaren for Nauru. I changed the name of the capital in Capital Hill / Susupe (Saipan) since the name Saipan appears as the name for the atoll.
Thanx everyone.

A brilliant game! It's taken me half the evening to get it right, but I eventually got there without dotitis... Thanks very much!
As for Saipan, these small places are a bit of a nightmare. For what it's worth, the CIA world factbook (one of the more useful things they publish...) says that Saipan is the capital of the Northern Mariana Islands; Have a look at:

Thanks for the answer :) It's not surprising, I've also had problems with these small islands and towns. Often it's not clear who owns what and some townnames differ etc. But if you get to a conclusion regarding Saipan/Susupe, please let me know! :)

Good question: Saipan is indeed mentioned as the capital, but in my atlas it appeared to be the name of the atoll, with Susupe as a major city. I've looked at several maps now and found many different names of cities on the island. It might be something like Yaren for Nauro which isn't exactly a city either. I'll do some more research!
