Great Game, Mata seems to be pretty common in Malay languages for naming the Eye. For example in the Filipino dialects. The other parts of the body have other names though. Eyebrow: Kilay, Eyelid: tabon-tabon, Eyelash: pilok.

That's the idea! Both rambut and bulu refer to hair, but the former is hair on the head, and bulu refers to the rest, hence bulu mata is eyelash, and bulu kaki would be hair on your legs! I think! Haha.
