I would never have considered New Mexico a Great Plains state until tonight!

The Llano Estacado (or Staked Plains) in Texas and New Mexico is the southern part of the High Plains (which is a southern region of the Great Plains). It is one of the flattest part of the Great Plains. The Pecos Valley and Raton region of the Great Plains also extend into Eastern New Mexico
