Extra information about dates and countries:
Czech Republic and Slovakia: 1918 was the era of Czechoslovakia. 1993 after they separated.
Italy de facto 1946, de jure 2005
Switzerland de facto 1961, de jure 1981
de facto: "in practice" but not ordained by law.
de jure: De jure means "of law".
The terms de jure and de facto are used instead of "in principle" and "in practice", respectively, when one is describing political or legal situations.
The Netherlands has the oldest anthem in the world. First written in 1574 but only officially recognized since 1932
Japan's Kimigayo has the oldest lyrics in the world (9th century AD). But a melody was only added in late 19th century. But it is the world shortest national anthem.
Like the Netherlands. The first difinitive lyrics of the national anthem of the UK were written in 1744. Other anthems usually sung by the UK are: Jerusalem, Land of Hope and Glory and I vow to thee, my country.
