Actually, both places exist.
Silver City is in Hoke County, a bit southeast of Siler City in Chatham County.
Siler City is a bit larger: nearly 7000 population, vs less than 1200 for Silver City.

Sad to say, you need to lose a dot. "Silver City" in NC is actually Siler City - no v and a long i.

Mea culpa on Silver City - I did check two different atlases before posting - should have Googled instead. I used to live in Chapel Hill, so was acquainted with Siler City and the dot seemed pretty close.
