According to Webster Collegiate Dictionary both plurals are accepted. This was checked before publication, so I used the plural that most people today would probably use.

One thing though: the plural of 'genus' is 'genera', not 'genuses'.

Sorry, you're right, Meriam-Webster Online Dictionary mentions two plurals:
plural gen·era \ˈje-nə-rə\ also ge·nus·es
I think there is a reason it mentions 'genera' first, and then says 'also genuses'.
'Genuses' is correct, but I don't think most people would use it instead of 'genera'.
I've been reading scientific and non-scientific books and articles about biology for years and years, and I've never seen the word 'genesus' being used.
