I found this in Wikipedia:
"San Marino claims to be the oldest constitutional republic in the world: it was founded on 3 September 301"
and
"San Marino's constitution, dating back to 1600, is the world's oldest written constitution still in effect."
So maybe it should have been featured in the 1000-game as well.

Amazing how things change over just three hundred years! I had no idea, though, that San Marino is so old.

Interesting game, Niklas! I am familiar with some of the Duchies, from literature and history, but didn't really know where they were, so had to apply knowledge of modern Italy to figure it out.
