Well, the Muslims were a lot more tolerant of Christians and Jews than the subsequent Spanish Empire was of other religions. Not only were there mass expulsions and forced conversions following the reconquista of 1492, but also the particularly vicious institution of the Spanish Inquisition. So, yes, Islamic Spain was by the standards of the time a very tolerant place!

Nice game, Peto. I found the Spanish words from Arabic really interesting - lots of English words have similar derivations of course, and date from the Crusades to the Holy Lands.
