(I should add that I did fix the game: they should all be the same now).

Timpat and BoboLo:

It was not intentional. I thought I'd caught all the errors, but obviously not. I'm afraid that mistakes are all-too easily made in game making, and I appreciate you bringing them to my attention.

I don't know how I missed Timpat's comment for 2 weeks. I try to check the game comments in my profile semi-regularly, but I guess it I just missed it.

Again, thanks for the comments, they're quite helpful.

Good Luck, and Good Games.

Maddening game! I think I'm more confused now than I ever was!

Like Timpat, I'm a bit confused by the distinction between Sept.15 and Sept 15.

Hi, Is there a little problem around Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras & Nicaragua, same dates, but different order all the time ? but I like the game

"Independence Day" is not always a cut and dried thing. Some countries have been colonized/occupied many times, and it is hard to pin down which date is most appropriate. Many countries also have a "national" day which celebrates their sovereign nationhood. This may or may not be the same as their independence day.

There is also a difference between when independence is declared, achieved de facto, and when it is recognized (by the colonial power or the world in general).

The dates I use here are mostly from:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Independence_day

But even in that list, it isn't always clear-cut.
