A very difficult, but very interesting game!

I'm working on it.
By the way, thanks to Arturo for prodding me into doing this. I'd been thinking of it for awhile, mentioned it to him, and he urged me to go ahead. I started in Asia so his country (Philippines) would be in the first game.

I agree!! I would like to see this for other continents. That was a great game. It took me a long time to get under 2 minutes.
geodude June 30, 2008
That would be great.

Great game as usual. Are you going to make a game like this for every country?

The comment I meant to leave initially:
"Independence Day" is not always a cut and dried thing. Some countries have been colonized/occupied many times, and it is hard to pin down which date is most appropriate. Many countries also have a "national" day which celebrates their sovereign nationhood. This may or may not be the same as their independence day.
There is also a difference between when independence is declared, achieved de facto, and when it is recognized (by the colonial power or the world in general).
The dates I use here are mostly from:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Independence_day
But even in that list, it isn't always clear-cut.
