Burpleberry:
This is a common misconception.
Or, one could say it is a difference in usage. To physiographers, the Great Plains is what is on the map in the game. Some people expand the region in informal speech to include other, adjoining areas.
Eastern South Dakota ("East river country" locally) is in the Central Lowlands, a vast area stretching out to Western New York state.
Together, the Great Plains and Central Lowlands form the larger Interior Plains region of the US . (And with Mackenzie Delta, Manitoba Lowlands, Northern Boreal Plains, Prairie Grasslands, and the Southern Boreal Plains And Plateaux, the Interior Plains of North America
Similarly, eastern Texas is in the gulf coastal plain.
Iowa is not in the Great Plains proper.

you dont live there and its called East River not East River Country. and you cant trust wikipedia or any wiki site with information like this cause someone can simply change it with out warning. AND they are parts of Great Plains.
