Very cool. Cant wait for part 2. In order for me to memorize the names of subdivisions of other countries I usually have to learn the origin of many of the names and other information about them, to get enough of a connection to solidly remember them.

Note a few things:

I have minimized the number of dots in this version by putting only one dot in each contiguous group of like-colored states.

This is a highly simplified map. Some of the "Languages" here are really groups of closely related languages (Siouian, Algonquin, etc.)

Some etymologies are in dispute. Some may never be completely resolved.

And I include nothing about word meanings in this version. That will be in the more difficult version...

Finally, the list in the article given does not agree with the map in all cases. That means the two games will not agree: one is based on the map, the other on the list.
