Elemental Etyomology--Challenging (Periodic Table)
-
Author's Game Description
What do the names of the elements mean? Brackets add information, parens give the languages of origin. (I've interpreted names to better fit text blocks.)

it is the same as for world capitals... it stops at the penultimate dot so many times that it sucks... it is really a pity because as a game itself it allowed me to remember elements much better than the simple name

well, why not to put also "one-one-two" and the rest for ununbium and so on, just for the sake of completeness.. it is already hard so it won't make a big difference...

Please note that some of these derivations are too complex to handle well in a small text block. I did my best.
Also note that some elements share etymologies (Manganese and Magnesium, for example.) The ultimate in that is this answer:
Ytterby [village] (Swed.)
Ytterby has 4 elements named for it.
Importantly: if you find misspellings or other errors in this game, PLEASE let me know so I can fix them. This size game is difficult to troubleshoot.
And feel free to play without logging in. This will be a hard game. No sense messing up your score (if that matters to you).

@ Wentu:
Re: your first comment, I thought the 111 dots was quite enough. I was hoping to avoid the freezing problem seen in this game:
http://www.purposegames.com/game/capitals-of-the-world-quiz
But by your later comments, I see that I failed.
The "Capitals of the World" game has 190+ dots, I thought mine had few enough it might not do the same.
I don't think I'll add more to this game, and I don't think I'll do another with 100+ dots, unless the problem is fixed.
