I made a series of games on the regions of England. In order not to use any copyrighted material and also to give them a consistent "feel". To make them I looked at maps I found on the internet - some of which turned out to be of questionable quality. Not knowing every nook and cranny of England I didn't notice this until the maps were drawn (although I did go back and fix some of them).
In short don't expect the maps to be super accurate. I think it's mainly this map that is a bit funny (I suspect that it has the wrong aspect ratio among other things) but I'm sure some peculiarities remain also in some of the other maps.
