I would love to live in one of these castles. I guess some people actually do. J.K. Rowling bought a castle and lives in one.

Dal, some people do, but you have to be handy with tools and you'll need to raise loads of money to cope with the tasks that come up every day. Keep in mind that historical buildings are architectural monuments that have to be conserved, repaired, reconstructed ... none the less it would be great to live in a castle. Some castle owners offer rooms for rent. Also many people love to wed in a castle.
Rowling's Castle is in Scotland. I think Nicolas Cage bought a castle in Bavaria.
