I didn't want to put dots all over the actual map because most of these areas are broken up so much that it's hard to pick the right spot. Also, some of the areas are so small they'd be obscured. But leaving the key down in the corner didn't seem very useful or interesting.
So I broke up the key and did my best to situate the boxes as near as possible to corresponding areas of vegetation (but without clumping too many together).
