This is based on this list at Wikipedia, but I created my own version of the map, based on the Calogero World Lands map, which shows all land areas proportional to their actual size. Other lists have different orderings depending on which conglomerate subdivisions are included as qualifying. For instance, the Urals Federal District, and the Northwestern Federal District of Russia are conglomerations of Oblasti and Okrugs which if considered as units as they are on this list would both be among the largest 10 political subdivisions.
