One of the funnest experiences I have had by spending the night somewhere with a view was actually when I was in the military. I got to spend the night in a tropical rain forest in Panama. It was fascinating. I remember seeing parrots in the trees.
However, at night we had to wrap mosquito nets around our faces so bats wouldn't try to bite you. Some people were so scared of this they couldn't sleep. It makes me laugh now thinking of this!

Personally, I've had my best views from a very small hotel by the church in Cadaquéz, Spain and from sleeping outdoors in Sweden, without a tent, by the small "mountain" of Omberg and on small unhabitated islands in Lake Sommen, Sweden. Try it and you'll like it.
