Good point about the use of the world isle, thank you famisamis. So the line between islet and island, is it in one's sole discretion, namely relative?

I do not have english as my first language either so I took a look in Wikipedia. They don't seem to make any difference between island and isle but to confuse us (?) they introduced the word islet as well :)

You're probably right. I wanted to show but well known islands in a greater context though.

I have yet another question in mind. Since I'm not a native speakter I know that an isle is smaller then an island, but I do not know from when on a piece of land surrounded by water is called one or the other? Are there exact rules like an island has to be bigger than 50 square kilometers or so? Or can one piece of land be both at the same time?

This game would be a better one if you focused on islands e.g. around Africa - and thus left out the islands of the mediterranean and south east asia. It would make it a more coherent game.
