For the record, very few Americans would classify population by metropolitan area, as it incorporates too many cities. Calling it the largest city in each state is incredibly misleading.

Can you please specify, I have used data from here:
http://www.citypopulation.de/USA-Metro.html
Perhaps you are thinking of city population, not metro?

Too many mistakes, some states have the wrong cities...

In CityPopulation where I found the data, see game description, it says Boise City and Wikipedia says:
Boise (['bɔɪ•si] locally, or ['bɔɪ•zi] by non-locals, less commonly known as Boise City) so it probably not wrong but I will change it to Boise.
When it comes to Nashville I’ll have to blame CityPopulation once again, they say Nashville (-Davidson). Wikipedia says:
The 2007 population of the entire 13-county Nashville Metropolitan Statistical Area was 1,521,437, making it the largest metropolitan area in the state. The same number for Memphis metro area is 1,280,533, but the numbers for only the cities are 677,272 for Memphis and 619,626 for Nashville-Davidson County (numbers from Wikipedia). But I will change it to just Nashville as you suggests, I guess that it is what most people call it.
For Ohio the numbers are these in 2007 (metro/city):
Cleveland 2,250,871/438,042
Cincinnati 2,136,678/332,458
Columbus 1,754,337/747,755
And finally, Delaware, it seems like that Wilmington is a part of Philadelphia-Camden-Wilmington metro area. The pop. for Wilmington city is 72.826 and for Dover city it is only 35,811 but the metro area has 152,255. I guess it is the same problem as with Newark/New York.
Thanks for your feedback.

I've never heard Boise, Idaho called "Boise City"; Nashville probably incorporated all of Davidson County, but please just call it Nashville. (Memphis is probably bigger but for the incorporation.) I thought Columbus and Cincinnatti both passed Cleveland in population. Cleveland was largest when I was a youth in the sixties. There is a general trend that state capitals grow faster than other urban centers, but still I'm shocked that Dover passed Wilmington.

I think it is the old problem of city vs metro population.
According to http://www.citypopulation.de/USA-Cities.html Newark has approx. 280' inhabitants (city size) and Trenton metro area has approx. 370' inhabitants according to http://www.citypopulation.de/USA-Metro.html.
I guess Newark is a part of NY metro area since there is no separate listing of a Newark metro area.

i don't think Trenton is the biggest city in NJ... Newark isn't bigger?

I changed it from city population to metropolitan area population, given the comments I have received this is probably used more.

I have a game like this that is accurate on 2009 city proper estimates, along with a second tier. Look on my games.
