I think I read about Buffet/Gates somewhere, I think the numbers came from Forbes.

Yeah, I was going by a recent new story. I'm not sure if it was Forbes or some other source. But they calculate annually in February.

A lot of their wealth is stock, and whatever affects the stock market makes them richer or not quite as rich.

And the list you cite is their peak value. Buffet is richer at the moment, but realistically, their wealth changes daily. In fact, it actually changes moment by moment.

Such arcane considerations aside, a very good game.
