According to Wikipedia, 200 persons have French as a native language and 300 more as a second language. 65 M is hardly the population of France, it can't be right.

Thats a fair comment - I should be using data on total number of speakers with the map as it is colored now. Perhaps I'll get to it within a few days.

Fair enough if you are talking about native language vs official language(s). The small confusion is that the map represents countries where the language is spoken or official (the French dot is in the middle of Africa). Not a biggy though. Still a good looking and informative game. Thank you!

The data I have used (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethnologue_list_of_most_spoken_languages) is based on people who use the respecitve languages as first language. Most of the French speaking people in Africa uses French as their second language, which explains the difference you point out.

Cool game, but something wrong with the data. French is spoken by 200M people across the world in 2007. The 65M you have is only the population of France.
