This was hard to make. These provinces are large, and encompass a variety of sub-habitats. Their names are correspondingly long. Far too long for the text block allowed in the game.
To make things fit, I have almost uniformly deleted the word "province" which is at the end of each name. There is one exception, where it seemed the name would scream "incomplete" otherwise.
I have also incorporated many abbreviations for the names. I couldn't have done it at all, otherwise. I have listed those on the game background. In the case of shorter names, I didn't always use the abbreviations. Where names were very long, I had to use several.
I made one or two other changes, primarily using a synonym for a word in the name.
Finally, I added an oval to include (very approximately) a region which I've sometimes treated as a separate province: the Nebraska Sandhills. (So if you've read through this, you should get that one right).

Be sure to look at this site:
http://www.fs.fed.us/colorimagemap/ecoreg1_provinces.html
You can click on each area, and get information about its landforms, climate, flora, fauna, and soils. Pretty darned cool.
The map is in the public domain as it was the work of a US Government Employee as part of his job.
