A look at http://www.citypopulation.de and urban area population says 1.167.569 for Copenhagen 2009-01-01 and 1.252.020 for Stockholm 2009-06-30 so it is pretty close.

It's hard coping with the right amount of inhabitants. Some say Copenhagen is by far the biggest city in Scandinavia, and some say Stockholm. I'd say Copenhagen, myself. And yes, that's correct putting Linköping in fifth place.

I've looked into it a bit more. I used the numbers for the urban areas, not the municipality.
For larger cities the urban area consists of several municipalities or part of them.
For smaller cities, like Linköping, the urban area consists of a part of the municipality.
What you say about Linköping's ranking compared to Västerås and Örebro is true for the municipalities but not for the urban areas, then the game is correct.
To confuse things further the data for the municipalities is newr (2007) than the data for the urban areas (2005).
The next census for Sweden is made 2010, maybe it will differ then, If I remember correctly Linköping is growing fast.

The data I used seems to be outdated
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cities_in_Scandinavia_by_population
I will update it, not at once, but as soon as I have some time for it.

Linköping is in fifth place on tje list in Sweden. It is bigger than both Västerås and Örebro. If the other information about population is correct Linköping is on the twefth place on the list of Scandinavia

Haven't you slightly misplaced Trondheim? Isn't it located at the big bay further to the east?

In the Wikipedia article about Copenhagen says 1,145,804 which would put it behind Stockholm, 1,545,804 which puts it in 1st place. Since there only is one number changed I think somebody changed it by mistake or was it you on purpose? ;)

The list uses the numbers for the utban area for the first 4 cities and the numbers for the actual city on the rest. Why I don't know but I changed thr rankings accordingly.
