Author's Game Description
Match the country with it's official language(s). I realize there may be discrepancies regarding the 'official' status of a language. I welcome any input so I can make it right!

Who knew that Austria recognized 4! official languages? I lived there for 8 weeks in 1978 and only knew of German - (maybe there were fewer then).

Part of the problem is that this was created 2 years aogo.
The languages for Serbia are not current. Serbian is the only federally official language, while some of the ones mentioned in your quiz are recognized only in the Voivodina district. Albanian, while certainly spoken in areas of Serbia, is not considered official, especially now that Kosovo is its own country.

There are lots of problems with this set. What about Kashubian and Silensian in Poland? Sicilian and Friulian in Italy? What about Russian in Latvia (spoken by over half the population) not to mention that it is widely spoken by Russians in Ukraine and Lithuania? Basque, Romany and Turkish are also missing from various countries.
Please either stick to official languages or include all languages.

Mirandese is used locally, and likely not by a large amount of the population. Nevertheless, it is listed as an official language of the country by multiple sources - CIA World Factbook and Ethnologue.
As for Gaelic, Scottish Gaelic would be more correct. However, Gaelic is an acceptable short form of the name and in the interest of character limits for the game I elected to use it instead.
Thank you for your comments and thank you for playing!

Interesting -- but I doubt that Mirandese ("sparsely spoken in a small area of northeastern Portugal") cuts it as an official language. And "Scottish" should really be "Scottish Gaelic".

There wasn't a 'bokmal', was there?

You're right, Niklas! For this game, though, I used the English spellings. I used the Norwegian spelling in the Languages of Europe v.2 http://www.purposegames.com/game/467/info.
Thanks!

It should be bokmål, not bokmal.

Belgian has three official languages: not only Dutch and French, but also German
In the Netherlands we do not only speak Dutch, but Frisian is also an official language.
And I found some more incorrect things.
