The US states by shape were much harder for me. You found them to be easy :)
As for the unfamiliar shapes, I should have released the shape game before this one ... all right, here it is:

(Should be no problem now that you've got a 100% in this game.)

This is just too hard.
I don't even know what some of the countries are. The shapes are so unfamiliar, and I'm sure that some of them didn't exist as nations when I went to school...
Nor was I aware that Europe had more than one Brest.

I think/hope in combination with the above mentioned "Countries of Europe by Shape" with the same background as this game it'll be somewhat easier. I will publish it tomorrow or the day after that to prevent flooding the home page.

You weren't kidding when you said it was different. Even the recognizable ones are DIFFERENT!

The "Countries of Europe by Shape" games will follow soon, as promised; see http://www.purposegames.com/game/2628/info - States of the USA by Shape (1/4).

After playing the shape game (30bdd651), I see why it was so hard.
I never knew the shapes of the mini-nations (Andorra, et. al.). They were just spots on the map, and others (e.g., former SSR's) weren't even shown separately on maps when I learned them.
The shape game made it all make sense...
