Well, like a lot of things. Get a couple of these in your head at one time, and start to wonder: are there more? You go state by state, think of some of them right away. Then have to research the rest.

For those not quite getting it:

The idea of the game is to match each name, phrase, etc. to the state that completes it.

So "----- Jones" as a clue should have you click on Indiana, for "Indiana Jones", the movie character.

"----- Dare" is Virginia Dare from early American history

"Rainy night in -----" is "Rainy Night in Georgia", the song

And so on. It takes one play to fully get the idea, and a few more to get them all right. A lot of them are cultural references, and depending on your generation, they may be easier or harder to understand.
