Maybe the game I liked most for a while was David's "Famous Sites of Europe". It has been exciting to look up all the things in Wikipedia and learn more about them. Without the links, the game maybe wouldn't be half as good. I thought exactly what you've written then: supercool, that you actually see the places that you have to find on the map! Makes much more sense to play the game if you know more about the places than just their names.

Now this is supercool, that you actually see the places that you have to find on the map in game 1a. Maybe it's better to do 1a and 1b vice versa: First you see all of those really nice and/or interesting places, and after that you are motivated to find them on a map. Whatever, a very good series of games!
