One last thing : It's "vison" (animal known for its fur) and not "vision".
;)

RonaldDerGrosse  April 12, 2007

All French entries are now corrected. "La Vénus au vision" is very interesting. This name is similar to the Italian. In English this movie"s name would be a telephone exchange. I guess Venus is Liz Taylor! My regards to France. Visiting all parts of France one summer was a highlight of my life. Your country has so much to offer, not to mention the cuisine! Thanks DireWolf for your help.

And "Le patient anglais" IS the title in France. "patient" is a french word too.

DireWolf  April 12, 2007

It depends if you want to ask about possible translation of words that are movie titles in english, or if you want to ask the foreign movie titles...
"Beurrer le champ huit" realy means nothing in french. For a French (and I am), it is only words put randomly together.
The french title is "La Vénus au vison".
Beetlejuice is maybe not a very good movie to put there because of the lack of translation..

RonaldDerGrosse  April 12, 2007

Translation services are never 100 percent correct! I've changed the three but two have become dead giveaways. I am sure Beetlejuice would be Beetlejuice in any language - therefore the use of a cryptic terminology dividing the word into two words "the juice of a beetle. "Le malade" translates to "patient". "Le patient anglais" is probably the actual name of this movie in France.

DireWolf  April 11, 2007

The french titles are wrong.
It's not "Promenade de cadavre", but La Dernière Marche,
Beetlejuice is still Beetlejuice,
it is "Le patient anglais",
and "Retour vers le futur III".

(I don't know for Butterfield)

The idea is good, but not the answers...
