Great like always Dal, nice and brief description of Israel. If anyone follows the History Channel. There is a new great series called Battles BC.
------------ ONLY READ FURTHER IF YOU (CAN) HAVE A NEUTRAL VIEW ON RELIGION (even if you are religious)---------------
From a personal point of view it's an eye-opener when you put a human face on the biblical people who shaped Israel. They put a human face on Mozes (episode 5), Joshua (Episode 3) and David (Episode 2).
The historians tell the magics like mozes going out of egypt and his magics tricks, Joshua invading canaan and David establishing a monopolized Israelite Kingdom in a realistic way and from a political and military view you can witness the brilliance of their strategies and tactics, physical as mental. truly genius, amazing and sometimes sickenly brutal
If you ever get the chance, watch or get it one way or the other or buy the DVD this coming July 14th. It's well worth the knowledge.

@heateh
I love that stuff, I will program my TIVO recorder to record these shows for me. I am always watching stuff on the history and science channels.
I saw a show on the battle of Salamis a few years back. It was so good it influenced me to start reading books on ancient Greece!
